The weigh ins have come and gone and the big news is the Tim Sylvia is OFF the card. He did not pass his test again and he was replaced by Cabbage in a non title fight. Mike Kyle is now set to fight Wes Sims who was waiting in the sidelines and takes this fight on short notice.
Tito Ortiz was uncharacteristically light weighing in at 202 pounds and looked absolutely shredded. Liddell looked as good as he has ever looked and when the staredown was over gave Ortiz the double middle fingers for good measure. It is clear that both fighters are in the best shape that they have ever been and tomorrow’s fight should be a barnburner.
On a humorous note Edwards came in with a lollipop in his mouth confident that he made weight comfortabley. This is not the first time that he has done something like this, at UFC 43 he weighed in with a donut in his hand.
The only other humor that was derived from the weigh ins took place when a fan blurted out to Joe Rogan something to the effect of “you suck at your job!!” Rogan who is always quick with the wit retorted with “I agree but I bet it’s a better job then you have, FUCK FACE!!!” and every one within earshot erupted in laughter. Everything else went off without a hitch and we are set for UFC 47.
