In Waterford city, rents have risen by 10.2% in twelve months, while outside the cities, rents have risen by 13.2%. In Cork, rents rose by 10.4% in the year to March, the tenth quarter of double-digit growth in rents. Tenants are under huge pressure, and those people who are dependent on the rental system for their housing needs are looking at rents that are up to 15% higher than the Celtic Tiger peak with the lowest number of properties to rent since 2006. No names have been released. West Virginia American Water says it is monitoring the crash site for fuel leaks into a tributary of the nearby Elk River and is in contact with state and local crews. "As we attempt to learn more about the situation, we are keeping the crew involved in our heartfelt thoughts", UPS said in a statement. Authorities on scene say the Short 330 aircraft, contracted by UPS, came in "too hot" sideways and hit the runway and then rolled and went sideways down a hill. (more...)
