Patient services at many Delhi hospitals were affected on Thursday as resident doctors skipped duty in a show of solidarity for their colleagues in Maharashtra who have been on strike for the past four days demanding better security. In addition, doctors are calling for more security personnel and strict enforcement of the Doctors' Protection Act, which provides up to three years' imprisonment for violence against doctors.
