The decisions to significantly scale down GM's operations in India are results of months of analysis over "where we are going to place our bets (globally) as a company", Ammann said in an interview. The announcement was made amid a series of restructuring moves GM has unveiled today, following a review of operations in its worldwide markets. United Airlines has reached a settlement with the passenger who was dragged off one of their flights. OPEC efforts are being undermined by a surge in drilling in the United States that is spurring a boom in shale oil production that may fill numerous gaps left by OPEC. USA crude output averaged 9.3 million bpd in the week ended April 28, its highest since August 2015, according to federal data and many analysts see US crude output heading towards 10 million bpd over the next year or so.
