For the second time in a week, US President Donald Trump faced boos at a sports event, receiving a mixed reaction when he arrived at a mixed martial arts event at Madison Square Garden in NY.

Inside, Trump stood up in his seat within the VIP part and waved to a crowd that principally cheered - with just a few "boos" and the occasional raised center finger sprinkled in.

Trump just left New York City Sunday morning after flying in the day before for a wild UFC fight at Madison Square Garden where he was greeted with a mix of boos and cheers. In the president's former life as a reality star and tabloid-obsessed real-estate developer, he had been a regular spectacle at pro-wrestling events, but aside from making history as the first sitting president to attend an MMA fight, Trump's Saturday night was far more low-key.

On Saturday night, protesters gathered outside Madison Square Garden to support and resist the President, who stayed for the entire four-hour show.

A handful of signs reading "Remove Trump" and "Impeach Trump" dotted the crowd. I know fighters. Ladies and gentlemen, Donald Trump is a fighter and I know he will fight for this country, ' he told the Cleveland crowd.

"No matter what your political views are, not every fighter can say, 'Hey, the President is showing up to my fight, ' you know?"

Trump and White have been friends for years.

President Trump, however, felt like his entrance was very well received.

In the main event Saturday between welterweights Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, a technical knockout was called in the third round in favor of Masvidal because a doctor was concerned about a cut on Diaz's face. The official said the RNC paid because the president attended. Mr. Trump agreed to host a number of fights at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, giving the U.F.C. a lifeline. He's expected to spend the weekend in NY and take in a UFC fight. "You gotta turn that ... around in 2020", Lewis said after the match. You can believe or do whatever you want.

Speaking with reporters on Friday, Kellyanne Conway, a top Trump aide, said he was not seeking to avoid taxes and that he moved from NY "with some regret". White said after the fights.

Despite turning his back on NY as a home, President Trump just can't quit the Big Apple.

Ms. Majercik said she was rooting for Mr. Masvidal, who is from Miami, while Mr. Majercik simply described himself as a "fighting fan".
