Overwatch 2: Blizzard finally announces the sequel at BlizzCon 2019

Diablo 4 Open World Gameplay PS4

"Overwatch" director Jeff Kaplan has confirmed on the main stage in BlizzCon 2019 main stage that "Overwatch 2" will be a shared multiplayer environment for its players according to fans on the "Overwatch" Reddit. Whereas the previous was anticipated by followers - particularly after the brutal reception of Diablo Immortal final yr - the latter was one thing of a shock, provided that Overwatch continues to be going robust and had not too long ago launched on Nintendo Swap. While there are more than 30 heroes to pick from in Overwatch - and more on the way in Overwatch 2 - most players are only really good with perhaps four. Other than maps and cosmetics, two new characters, namely Echo and Sojourn, could potentially be added to the roster upon "Overwatch 2's" release. The release date for the game wasn't revealed. Lastly, although, the trailer started, and it was an extended and storied glimpse into Overwatch lore that started with Winston, Mei, and Tracer on a mission to Paris combating towards Null Sector, a terrorist group in sport lore. The trailer imbues a story line gameplay which of course if of the essence in Overwatch 2.

The Story missions shown in the cinematic include a variety of maps including - Illios, Route 66, Paris, Eichenwalde, Busan and Toronto.

With these announcements, current "Overwatch" players can be confident that they'll be able to enjoy the sequel's content.

Hero missions are "deepy replayable", the team said, and they'll be playable "night after night, week after week, year after year".

Overwatch 2 will also release with a story mode (surprise!) which will see players participating in hero-missions and levelling up as they complete these. During the panel the developers made it clear that the game is not coming soon.

Again, there's no date just yet, but it's in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
