Muscatine Resident Rhonda Larson is an advocate for breast cancer awareness and encourages women ages forty to forty-five or older who are at average risk for breast cancer to get their annual mammogram. Many women who have survived breast cancer are unable to go without a bra as they need it to hold their prosthesis after surgery.
The original event is known as "BRA Day" was started by Toronto plastic surgeon Dr Mitchell Brown.
"Nearly 12,000 women and 80 men every year in the United Kingdom die from breast cancer but with improvements in screening, treatment and raised awareness, this is a fraction of what it was decades ago".
