Turnout at early on-campus polls significantly up from 2015

Advance polls open early for voters

Advance polls are open across the North Shore from 9:00 a.m.to 9:00 p.m. In 2015's pilot program, only 39 campuses were involved.

Advanced polling begins this Friday for those who already know who they're voting for or will be unavailable on October 21.

There are multiple ways to vote, by checking the Elections Canada website.

Voters can vote at any Elections Canada office up until 6 p.m. October 15.

It can be overwhelming with all of the candidates, their parties, where to vote, what you need to vote and the dates you can vote, so we're here to break it down for you and make it a little easier in the two Prince George ridings.

A photo identification with a name and current address such as an Ontario Driver's Licence is all that is needed.

There are tools and services to facilitate voting for those with disabilities.

The qualification for voting in an election is simple.

From universities, community centres, and local Elections Canada offices, there are plenty of options for you.

The country's top court ruled the restriction unconstitutional and the Canada Elections Act was subsequently amended to adjust for the change in Bill C-76.

However, as important as access is, "just as much energy should be devoted to making voting exciting" says Jean-Francois Daoust, a specialist in electoral studies and public opinion.

To find out which ID is valid and what you should do if you need special accommodation, please consult Elections Canada here! A good turnout at advance polls does not help predict if there will be high interest on election day as well, according to Pilon, but he said Elections Canada is ready for anything.
