Ukraine president denies Trump 'blackmailed' him to investigate Biden

If China somehow managed to follow up on US President Donald Trump's unbelievable solicitation to begin an examination concerning Democratic opponent Joe Biden and his family, it would break one of its expressed principles: don't intrude in another country's interior legislative issues.

Like in the Post/Schar poll, support for Trump's removal from office was lower than support for the inquiry, with 45% of self-identified registered voters saying the president should be impeached and removed from office, and 49% saying he shouldn't be impeached.

"Classic Trump", Biden said.

"He's shooting holes in the constitution, and we can not let him get away with it", added Biden.

We all laughed when he said he could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot someone and get away with it. "Yet with the free world under threat of advancing authoritarianism, Donald Trump has completely abdicated America's global leadership and embraced those autocrats". She said she is now considering voting for Biden in the Democratic primary. Alexander says in a written statement that impeaching Trump would be a "mistake".

Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that there was "no blackmail" involved in the call he had with Trump. Later that same day, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump.

Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina called the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump "a waste of resources" on Wednesday morning when asked if he had concerns about Trump's public call for foreign governments to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. "And he's spending tens of millions of dollars this early in the campaign during the Democratic primary to spread lies".

UtahPolicy.com attempted to ask Utah GOP chairman Derek Brown about Trump's attacks on Romney, but he did not return calls or text messages seeking comment. And I did nothing wrong.

Biden responded on Twitter, "Stop stonewalling the Congress. Honor your oath".

The details of Trump's conversation with Zelensky first came to light in an explosive whistleblower complaint that a U.S. intelligence official filed against the president in August, and which was released to the public last month. No doubt some self-interest is involved in Zelensky's calculation, but it's tough to build a case of quid pro quo and corruption when the two players in the alleged act both say nothing of the sort occurred - and the record backs that up.

"This isn't a game". It lays out about eight violations of the United States Constitution about six violations of the President's civil rights, my civil rights, Attorney General Barr's civil rights. "That's what it's all about", Biden said. I'm not saying Biden was involved in the bride but it's the only thing he wasn't involved in. So what did they try to do? "Everyone is entitled to his or her views of abortion, but promulgating misinformation about when abortion is medically necessary is risky", they wrote in a Washington Postop-ed. He said he "didn't even check" whether the Ukrainian transcript is the same, but "I think they match".

In New Hampshire, Biden noticeably did not mention the Senate or its potential role in deciding whether to remove Trump from office.

With the impeachment proceedings underway, Trump has made several false claims in recent weeks about the Bidens.

"Our calls had nothing to originate with weapons or the story with Burisma", he added, referring to the gas firm the place Mr Biden's son Hunter sat on the board. There is no evidence of wrongdoing by Joe or Hunter Biden. There is no basis for that claim. They appear to memorialize two conversations: one on January 23, when Giuliani spoke by phone with the former general prosecutor of Ukraine, Viktor Shokin; the other is from two days later, when Shokin's successor, then-General Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko, met Giuliani in NY.

The Ukrainian leader said he could not agree with this viewpoint.

Biden's camp slammed the Facebook letter, calling it "unacceptable".

His name came up during [the Trump-Zelensky] call. Trump's lawyers called the inquiry an illegitimate and unconstitutional effort to overturn the results of the 2016 election.
