Nick Jonas is replacing Adam Levine on NBC's 'The Voice'

Adam Levine Explains His Decision to Leave 'The Voice'

"While I'm excited to work with you guys, I'm coming for you", he said. Finally she just looked at me and touched the guitar.

The host then showed a video of Voice coach Blake Shelton, who revealed that Jonas was joining the Emmy-winning series next spring.

Jonas - a native of Dallas, Texas - will join Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend for Season 18, which will air in the spring of 2020.

He told Ellen DeGeneres he misses the show and its cast, including Blake Shelton.

In her video clip, Clarkson said she liked the idea of having a fellow Texan on the coaching panel, and she pitched the idea of the two of them forming an alliance.

"I just have to tell you one thing - our mission is to destroy Blake Shelton", said Legend, who is also returning as a coach. I will be joining as one of the new coaches on The Voice. I'm not even sure if you're old enough to be a coach on The Voice, but I'm certain that you're going to get your butt kicked buddy.

Jonas showed an "innate musicality, technical aptitude and passion" on NBC's other talent show which led to him landing the job on The Voice. I just stay home and do very little.

Appearing this week on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Adam Levine admitted he is "obsessed" with his children at this point, and while he doesn't think of that as a bad thing, he said that's the main reason why he's been such a homebody of late.

In a press release confirming the news, Meredith Ahr, President of the Alternative and Reality Group at NBC Entertainment, praised Jonas on his "exceptional" success in the music industry.

Though The Voice has often gone through coaching shake-ups from one season to the next, the biggest switcheroo yet came when longtime vet Adam Levine stepped down from his chair after Season 16, with Gwen Stefani taking his place.

The newly crowned 50-year-old singer is heading back to Las Vegas for her "Just a Girl" residency at Planet Hollywood's Zappos Theater in February and May 2020.
