Kohli, India set records in 318-run win over West Indies

Kohli and Rahane secure big India lead on day three

Meanwhile, keeping India's pace battery fully charged will be crucial to the team's ICC World Test Championship chances, skipper Kohli said following their win over West Indies. Paceman Bumrah bowled eight overs, including four maidens, to do most of the damage for India, hitting the stumps to claim four of his wickets.

Rohit had scored a fifty in his last Test against Australia in 2019 and boasts of a brilliant record against the Windies which include two centuries in his first two Tests against the opponents in 2013 in India, which included a score of 177 on debut. Vihari though revealed that the pacer was struggling and was not happy with his show in the first innings after managing just a wicket for 55 runs.

In 2018, Kohli-led India to their first ever series win in Australia as his team defeated the hosts 3-1 to seal a historic win in the Border-Gavaskar series Down Under.

The run-machine also surpassed Saurav Ganguly with the most Test wins in overseas matches for India as captain.

Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami also picked up three and two wickets respectively. "It is good to see the way these bowlers are bowling and (it) ensures we are a formidable line-up", he said. 'I was a little stiff in the first innings since I returned after a break, but things were all sorted by the second innings, ' he said.

Chasing 419 to win, the West Indies lost opener Kraigg Brathwaite on the 10th ball as he was caught behind off the bowling of Bumrah for one run. "I think we can go through the dismissals in this Test match and there were quite a few soft dismissals".

Ben Stokes (Credits: Twitter)"The championship has come at the right time is what I feel".

Three of his dismissals were against left-handers who were all bamboozled by the incoming delivery.

Rishabh Pant's poor shot selection has caused his downfall more often than not and Virender Sehwag on Monday hoped the keeper-batsman "works to better his game" and justify the team management's faith.

"It can happen very quickly, so that's why you've just got to make sure you shut that scoreboard down, make sure you keep the pressure on, because when you lose one or two wickets all of a sudden the scoreboard can look a lot different if you add two wickets to it. I knew how the wicket would play and I was fortunate enough to get those runs for the team", Vihari added.
