Death toll in El Paso and Dayton mass shootings rises to 30

"Hate has no place in our country, and we're going to take care of it", Trump said.

Ebrard said at a news conference Monday that eight of the 22 people killed in Saturday's attack in El Paso were Mexican nationals, as were six of the roughly two dozen people who were wounded. "The situation, needless to say, is a horrific one".

The County of El Paso's state court has "pre-file case" listed for "State of Texas vs Patrick Crusius" that shows a single charge of capital murder against Crusius.

Bush called on the United States to "stand against white terrorism".

Townsquare Media of El Paso has created a fund for all victims of Saturday's shooting, with a $500,000 goal.

"We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments", said Obama, who has only rarely spoken out on public affairs since leaving office in 2017. "It will leave an impression that you'll never forget".

El Paso has been reeling in the aftermath of Saturday's rampage at a crowded Walmart store, an attack believed to have been racially motivated against Hispanics.

"Today's shooting in El Paso, Texas was not only tragic, it was an act of cowardice", Trump wrote on Twitter. Several hours later, on Sunday, another shooter targeted a popular nightlife spot in Dayton, Ohio, killing nine and injuring 27 more people before he was killed in a shootout with police officers.

"The border city of El Paso, Texas, used to have extremely high rates of violent crime-one of the highest in the country, and considered one of our nation's most risky cities", the president said.

Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway told reporters at the White House on Monday that Trump will travel to Dayton and El Paso, she said, to express his condolences and help provide resources.

Crusius, of Allen, Texas, has been jailed without bond. He said Trump has a right to go wherever he wants, including El Paso, but he worries that the president's presence might incite more violence. Studies have repeatedly shown immigrants have a lower level of criminality than those born in the US, both shooting suspects were citizens, and federal officials are investigating anti-immigrant bias as a potential motive in the Texas massacre. "Not many people said Obama is out of control", read the quote from Brian Kilmeade. Years of drug violence in neighboring Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, left tens of thousands of people dead, yet El Paso had one of the nation's lowest crime rates.
