'Ninja' Leaves Twitch To Sign With Microsoft's Mixer

039;Ninja' Leaves Twitch To Sign With Microsoft's Mixer

Well known for his popularity on the Twitch platform, Ninja will now become exclusive with Mixer, a competing platform.

Fortnite megastar Tyler "Ninja" Blevins made his debut on Mixer on Friday with Fortnite World Cup solos division champion Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf, and they chose to try to break the internet by teaming up to compete in this week's edition of Fortnite Friday.

He promised his millions of fans that his broadcasts would remain the same, just that now they would be exclusively available at Microsoft's Mixer social platform for gamers. One of its biggest stars just left for the competition, Mixer.

Join these TV discussions on our forum! Blevins has gained a measure of crossover fame, showing on ABC's New 12 months's Eve present with Ryan Seacrest and on the duvet of ESPN the Journal.

"I am freaking out, in the best of ways".

"I love what I do and will still be actively streaming and continuing to interact with my fans", he said.

Blevins posted a video titled "The Next Chapter" in which he participated in a mock news conference answering questions from ... himself. Ninja broke Twitch records when rapper Drake showed up as a guest on one of the streamer's Fortnite sessions in early 2018.

Blevins is the biggest name in online gaming and arguably the most popular "Fortnite" player. The week before Bugha jetted off to change his life forever at the Fortnite World Cup finals, he won the Fortnite Friday tournament, partnering with Misfits pro player Cody "Clix" Conrod. And obviously, Mixer benefitted by leaps and bounds with the announcement.

So why did Ninja move from Twitch to Mixer? Over 100,000 users have already subscribed to Ninja's Mixer channel. He was supposed to be what everyone wanted him to be as the face of Twitch, the wholesome multicolor-haired streamer that purposefully held back on profane language to accommodate for his younger audience. For example, some in the community feel it has bad moderators and service. The streamer is offering free subscriptions in August, giving subscribers 22 Ninja-themed emoticons along with an ad-free experience.

"Mixer is a place that was formed around being positive and welcoming from day one, and we look forward to the energy Ninja and his community will bring", Microsoft said. All this, it should be emphasized, without a single stream or even a video presentation being uploaded to the channel.

Similar to Twitch, Ninja will stream on Mixer daily from 9:30 a.m. CST to 6 p.m. CST.

Needless to say, many of Ninja's 14 million followers will follow him on Mixer, which can only be good for Microsoft.
