Carmelo Anthony still hoping to catch on with an NBA team

Carmelo Anthony, 'I Know I Can Still Play' in NBA

Here's some of the highlights, with video, of Anthony's appearance.

He played 10 games with the Houston Rockets last season before general manager Daryl Morey called Anthony into his office to let him know the relationship wasn't going to work.

These stats aside, Anthony expressed a level of puzzlement to Smith about why the Rockets chose to move on from him so quickly. And I think people was afraid to stand up and communicate", Anthony said, adding when asked about the perception he wouldn't have accepted such a role if asked: "I wasn't willing to accept that because that was never explained to me.

"Silence is not my surrender", Anthony said, adamant that he can still contribute at the highest level. For you to tell me you don't need that no more. "At that point in time when they brought that to me, it was just an idea", Anthony said. "I feel bad for him".

35-year-old Anthony has been out of the league since he was cut from the Houston Rockets back in November. and there's been a public campaign by his National Basketball Association peers to get him back in the league ever since. NY wouldn't come close to the playoffs for the rest of Anthony's tenure but ironically had two Bulls players in Rose and Noah join their team in 2016. I got a game tomorrow.' He's like, 'Nah, you're not gonna suit up tomorrow'. "I think he said some great stuff and represented himself well on (First Take)". Morey never gave him any definitive reasons for it, and Anthony described going through an intense period of doubt after Morey essentially fired him.

Anthony then continued by stating that he feels that anything that has been said about him since he parted ways with the National Basketball Association has kept him out of the league. He was prepared to leave the New York Knicks for a better chance to win but ended up staying after a strong meeting with the team. So I wanted to do something that was special in NY.

Personally I nearly feel like Melo choosing to go public to defend himself about how he's been slandered and misunderstood isn't likely to endear himself to other teams. Lot of things that was said.

"I know I can still play", Anthony said.

Anthony instead remained in NY agreeing on a five-year contract worth $124 million taking $5 million less than the maximum at that period. "I'ma roll with you'".

"I felt like the game didn't love me back at that point".

The 10-time NBA All-Star has since expressed some remorse for the way things went in Houston.

Anthony does note that Billups helped slow him down and he's used the comments as a learning tool.

But followed up by saying that he has never been put in a winning situation like his close friends Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.
