Whereas Season 2 kind of had a lot of fat to trim (The Lost Sister, particularly), the third season gave us a solid, compact story, with nearly all the loose ends tied up in the end. There's call-backs to season 1, there's a hidden season 4 easter egg within Murray Bauman's phone number and there's even a blink and you'll miss it glimpse of Dustin's iconic red, white and blue hate.
If you ask me, they could actually end the entire show with Season 3, what with Hopper now gone, but that after-credits scene does kind of beg some further exploration. We went through the season multiple times to catch as many shout outs to the 1980s as we could, and as it turns out, there are tons of them. Maybe they just want to leave you guys hanging like that. "We can literally leave you guys hanging on the Upside Down".
Eleven wears a lot of shirts in season 3 but the subtle detail in her final outfit is emotional AF. The new Spielberg-wannabe friend, Joey Kim, wants to make a horror movie about a local legend, but when he sees Will's drawings, he discovers that his new friends are local legends.
Netflix hasn't yet announced whether there will be another season of Stranger Things, although given the critical and popular acclaim season three's received, it'd be a shock if season three was the show's last.
It's a stark contrast to her colourful new wardrobe, but the shirt she wears might actually hold a lot more sentimental value than we originally realised because it's nearly identical to the one that reminded her of home, and Hopper, in season 2.
One observer summed up the conundrum thusly: "I'm 20 minutes into "Stranger Things" and I've already learned that being a good father is about having a full-on psychotic break over the idea that your daughter might be horny".
