Trump can't ban critics from Twitter account, federal court rules

Ex-EPA chief on climate crisis The science is decided

Mr Trump has promoted the use of fossil fuels, eased environmental regulations and tried to unwind more stringent fuel standards for vehicles. "We will defend the environment but we will also defend American sovereignty, American prosperity and American jobs", the Republican president said.

Trump has over 60 million followers of his @realDonaldTrump Twitter account.

India had amended its previous order "to implement the imposition of retaliatory duties on 28 specified goods originating in or exported from USA", while preserving the existing rate for these goods for all other countries, the government notification said.

The Trump administration has sought to pave the way for even more development by reducing regulatory red tape for the fossil fuels industries and expanding leasing on federal lands.

The comment section is no different from a traditional town hall meeting, they said, and citizens must be allowed to respond directly to government officials and engage in public policy debates. American voters, facing growing evidence of the adverse impact of climate change, are taking note - which could be trouble for a president facing a tough re-election fight next year.

"As Trump touts his administration's environmental 'accomplishments, ' a reminder that the EPA is run by a coal lobbyist, Interior is run by an oil lobbyist and Energy is run by someone who wanted to abolish the department", he tweeted. "The Trump administration's record on the environment is beyond dismal and voters know it".

Fellow 2020 rival, former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, also pushed back against the president's remarks.

White House Council for Environmental Quality Chair Mary Neumayr repeatedly emphasized during the call that the President's message would be focused on touting improving environmental protections alongside a thriving economy.

"No other president, Republic or Democrat, ever felt it necessary to approach environmental protection in such a partisan and petty way". However, the EPI states the U.S. ranks 10th for air quality and 29th for water and sanitation quality.

The United States also slipped in the global environmental rankings to No. 27 in 2018 from 26th during the a year ago of the Obama administration, according to the Environmental Performance Index, a project by Yale and Columbia universities to measure national performance on air, water, forestry and other metrics.

"We're unlocking American energy and the USA is now a net exporter of clean, affordable, American natural gas", he said.
