"Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Spanish forward Ayoze Perez for an undisclosed fee, subject to Premier League and worldwide clearance", Leicester said in a statement on their website.
Losing Perez is a further blow to Newcastle, after Rafael Benitez left as manager of the club following the end of his contract on Sunday.
A release clause in the Spaniard's contract left Newcastle powerless to stop him leaving, but a fee of around £30 million would have been hard to turn down in any case.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Magpies from Tenerife in 2014, scored 13 goals in all competitions for the Magpies in 2018-19, taking his tally for the club to 48 in 195 appearances.
Newcastle United are reportedly keen on appointing Roberto Martinez as their new manager.
'The club want to keep growing as much as they can and that's something I like. "He's a player who will excite our fans", Rodgers said.
'That made me feel very comfortable about the decision to come here'.
"I think Ayoze will be a wonderful addition to the squad", said Leicester boss Rodgers. He's quick, has a good eye for goal and he's experienced in the Premier League too.
With seven goals and two assists in 52 appearances, his exit will not be as sorely felt as those of either Rondon or Perez, although his exit alongside those two does leave the club with a huge hole to fill ahead of next season.
