Kamala Harris Spox: Biden 'Seems to Stand by His Opposition to Busing'

California Attorney General Kamala Harris a candidate for the U.S. Senate speaks at the 29th annual California Hawaii State NAACP convention in Sacramento Calif. Friday Oct. 21 2016

Harris's announcement comes a week after the first presidential debate, during which she confronted Biden over his comments about his decades-old relationship with segregationist senators and his record on public school busing during the 1970s.

"The debate shook things up, but I think it's temporary".

Trump has also noted that Biden has reversed or shifted a number of his longheld stances in an attempt to garner support from Democrats as the party moves further left.

Biden suggested he supports allowing Americans to buy in to Medicare instead of going all the way to Medicare for All, which he slammed as disruptive and costly despite studies showing it would save the USA trillions of dollars in overall healthcare spending.

The total places Harris fourth behind Democrats who have released their fundraising totals: South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg raised $24.8 million; former Vice President Joe Biden raked in $21.5 million, and US Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont raised $18 million over the same period.

"I'm looking forward to this, man", Biden said.

"It was about just speaking truth and as I've said many times, I have a great deal of respect for Joe Biden...but he and I disagree on that", Harris said.

Biden's task is now to convince Americans that his brand of politics has a better chance of defeating President Donald Trump in 2020.

The Harris campaign said she is nevertheless gaining steam. In the general election fights, who won? "These resources will help expand Kamala's growing strength in this primary and put her position to win the Democratic nomination".

Out on the stump, Biden and Sen.

"I heard Biden who is a loser". Elizabeth Warren, have fully embraced Medicare for All.

The former vice president expressed frustration that the debate was so focused on former policies instead of current issues. How long is that going to take?

Ms Harris, herself a candidate for the presidency, clashed with Mr Biden during the first debates of the Democratic primary contest that will determine Donald Trump's opponent in the 2020 election.

Back in 1975, Biden did say about integration, "We've lost our bearings since the 1954 Brown vs. School Board desegregation case".

"The vast majority of Democrats are where I am on the issues", he said. Harris' online store generated almost $500,000, including from sales of 1,400 "That Little Girl Was Me" T-shirts, the campaign said.

After two failed runs for the presidency, in 1988 and 2008, and eight years as vice president under Barack Obama, Biden has plenty of history in Iowa, if not success.

"I get all this information about other people's past, and what they've done and not done".
