Now the report comes out to be true since as the company has confirmed to launch the next-generation gaming-centric phone on the said date.

As can be seen in the teaser above, Asus once again highlighted its partnership with China's Tencent Games to optimize numerous latter's popular titles for its upcoming device, something the company had announced earlier.

While the company has not revealed any details about the upcoming gaming smartphone, Asus ROG Phone 2 is rumored to come with an improved display as well as a powerful processor. The phone may have to compete with already launched Black Shark 2 and the Nubia Red Magic 3. To no one's surprise, the firm earlier today started to issue out media invite to a July 23rd event for the launch of the Asus ROG Phone 2.

Asus has reportedly joined forces with Tencent to optimized some games to take full advantage of the 120Hz display.

There's no further concrete info on the upcoming phone, but online speculations suggest that it might ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, at least 6GB of RAM, and at least 128GB of internal storage space, alongside RGB lighting, 4K 60fps video recording, liquid cooling and more. Notably, ROG Phone came with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Asus Rog Phone (First) was launched with Android Oreo 8.1 along with ROG Gaming X UI on top. The phone will come with either 18W charger or a 30W charger, depending on the variant (I001DA and I001DB). It features a 12 MP + 8 MP dual camera setup and a selfie camera of 8 MP. The first phone in this lineup was the ROG Phone while the next phone will be named as Asus ROG Phone 2. The phone was powered by a 4,000 mAh battery which supports 30W fast charging.
