With Manchester United having already confirmed two signings in this transfer window, the Red Devils have now reportedly agreed terms with their next acquisition ahead of next season.

Sporting are said to be hoping for a bidding way to be sparked, with Liverpool and Tottenham also linked with his signature.

The 24-year-old, who now plays for Primeira Liga side Sporting CP, had a brilliant 2018-19 season as he also earned the title of "free-scoring" midfielder, thanks to his 32 goals from 53 appearances across competitions. Thus, representatives at Manchester United need to negotiate further to convince the Portuguese club to let the player go.

It is Daily Mail that reports that Manchester United have finally emerged in the pole position to sign the player after three months of showing interest. The midfielder is however tied to Sporting in a long-term contract which runs until 2023, following his arrival £7.5m from Sampdoria.
