You probably won't die on your Dominican Republic vacation

A group of Jimmy Buffett fans had 114 of its members staying at the Punta Cana resort during a trip in April. A total of 47 of them reportedly got sick

The American Society of Travel Advisors, a trade group for travel agents, has advised its members against giving their clients definitive advice on whether to proceed with their trips to the Dominican Republic.

She says people need to get travel insurance when vacationing to countries like the Dominican Republic.

"She seemed to be in good health, she had medical tests here and all were good", said Kathy Giovinazzo, the assistant vice president of clinical services at the hospital, in an interview with Fox News.

Leyla Cox's death was one of a rash of deaths of US tourists in the Dominican Republic since past year that have been made public by their loved ones. Maryland couple Nathaniel Holmes and Cynthia Day were found dead in their hotel room of what officials are right now calling natural causes. "I don't know who to blame". Will Cox said his family was trying to find out the circumstances surrounding his mother's death.

Nine Americans have died in the Dominican Republic over the past year.

Who are the Americans who died? The U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo informed her family that she died of a heart attack, but her son, William Cox, says he is suspicious.

Similarities between the deaths are the timings and locations, as three of the Americans died at the Bahia Principe resort in La Romana within days of each other. When hotel employees checked on them, they were dead, police said.

55-year-old Joseph Allen of New Jersey died last Thursday at the Terra Linda Resort.

Meanwhile, Rycroft's rep tells ET, "She got an upset stomach on the second day of vacation, but it passed". He told friends he wasn't feeling well Wednesday night and ended up staying in his room Wednesday night, His brother, Joe Allen, said.

Officials in the Dominican Republic or the U.S. have not said the deaths are connected.
