Manchester United want West Ham United's Issa Diop

Man Utd target Issa Diop

PST's Joe Prince-Wright rated Diop as the 10th best center back in the Premier League season. Therefore, they have asked United to include Martial in the deal and then they will think about selling the 22-year-old defender.

Manchester United are desperate to add a centre back to their team this summer and West Ham's Issa Diop is the latest player they've been linked to, with reports that they've offered £45 million plus an unnamed player.

Manuel Pellegrini is keen to keep hold of Diop, despite the player's initial wish to leave the club, having notably handed in a transfer request in order to force a move away from London Stadium this summer.

But a source close to the player believes a £60m bid would tempt the capital club to cash in.

As for West Ham, they will be rather happy if they can price Diop out of a move to Manchester United.

Mourinho not only famously begged for center backs from chairman Ed Woodward during his last season at United, he called Diop "a monster" and congratulated the scout who found him.

West Ham United have no interest in taking Anthony Martial as part of Manchester United's attempts to sweeten the deal to sign defender Issa Diop, according to the Guardian.

Though they continue to be linked with a host of names, their only completed transfer business is a £15m-deal for Daniel James, who arrived from Swansea City last week.

One player Man United are reportedly targeting is Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff is among the targets United boss Solskjaer will look to make a move for once he completes his defensive outlays, while a goalkeeper could also be on the agenda with David de Gea's future uncertain.
