E3 2019: New Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller Announced

The Series 2. Microsoft

Testing conducted by Microsoft using preproduction units. This lets you choose between three different resistance settings, two of which offer the same amount of thumbstick resistance as Microsoft's standard Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers.

The Xbox Elite controller was somewhat of a sleeper hit for the Xbox team, with sales far outstripping supply when it first launched.

Stay tuned for more info as it arrives.

One of the flaws of the original Elite controller was that the rubber grips had a tendency to fall off over time, and the new Series 2 addresses that with new grips that wrap all the way around.

Among other things, you'll be able to customize buttons to serve as shortcuts for voice commands. There's a total of 30 new features on the next-gen Elite controller, and it's looking very promising.

Microsoft said the new Xbox Elite controller builds on performance, durability, and customization. It also comes with its own detachable charging dock and USB-C cable in its fancy trousers carry case, along with a bevy of new interchangeable thumbsticks, d-pads and paddle shapes.

It's finally here. We have been waiting for a new Xbox Elite wireless controller for a long, long while.
