The incident quickly went from a amusing meme to Beyoncé fans spamming Curran's Instagram with bee emojis, but the whole thing got a lot less amusing after Curran revealed she'd been receiving death threats - causing her to disable her Instagram account.
According to ESPN'sRamona Shelburne, Curran received death threats on social media and eventually shut down her Instagram account "just to make it all stop". At one point during the game, Nicole could be seen chatting with Jay-Z and while she was at it, Nicole stretched over Beyonce. Members of the "BeyHiVe" began attacking Curran. "She was in tears".

Beyonce's publicist Yvette Noel-Schure has since posted a statement on her Instagram telling the singer's fans to not spew hate in her name.
