The Internet Reacts To Today's Pokémon Sword And Shield News

New Pokemon Sword and Shield trailer reveals a tonne of new features including new Dynamax battle mode

While at the start it appears like a broader, larger-scoped traditional Pokemon game, this trailer has shown us some of the new creative additions.

The biggest new feature, literally, is the Dynamax ability.

Once you find the Dynamax Band in Sword and Shield (something that's bound to happen early on), you'll be able to transform one of your Pokemon into a towering monster, Rita Repulsa style, in each battle. Pokemon battles in the Gala region is a huge focus of the country's entertainment so landmark fights occur in stadiums with a huge crowd!

Basically, the program allows you to buy two digital games directly from Nintendo (including pre-orders) for $100 (which nets you 500 Gold Points, or $5 instantly).

There are some interesting caveats to Max Raid Battles. "The Max Moves the player's Pokemon can use are determined by the kind and types of moves they knew before Dynamaxing". That means that players are going to be forced to team up with some friends and battle if they want to complete their Pokedex in this game (unless they rely on trading). During the Direct, Game Freak also confirmed that the games will have a fully-movable camera system (no more locked perspective!) and a "wild area" that features a dynamic weather system.

We were also introduced to the two version legendaries for Sword and Shield: Zacian and Zamazenta. Both games will be releasing separately and in a double pack. Their respective roles probably won't be clear until the games are out, but we're looking forward to learning more about them nonetheless.

Thanks to the latest Pokemon Sword and Shield announcements, a new internet craze has emerged; and it's not the brand-new Legendary Pokemon or Bowsette in Pokemon form or even the PokeVitamin roided out ten-year-old Grass Gym Leader.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be launching on the 15th of November worldwide.
