Mallory's Morning Forecast - Stormy start to Memorial Day

Enhanced risk of severe weather for Michiana on Monday

Like on Monday, wind and hail are going to be the main threats however, we cannot rule out an isolated tornado threat as these storms move through.

We're under a marginal risk for severe weather. Highs will top out in the low to mid-80s, with muggier dew points in the 60s.

Low pressure tracks out from the west slinging showers and thunderstorms over the region by early Memorial Day and this could run for most of the day. Winds could gust as high as 25 miles per hour.

Tomorrow is the highest concern with severe weather with storms redeveloping in the afternoon/evening. Storms won't be as widespread as overnight Sunday, but any storms that do fire may be strong to severe once again. We might start to see a bit of a cool off by the end of next week, but isolated rain chances return. A Level 2 risk, indicating a greater likelihood of severe storms, is in effect for the eastern part of the viewing area, along and east of a line from Washington to Manchester and south of U.S. Highway 20. Afternoon highs top out in the middle 70s before stormy weather arrives.

Tuesday and Wednesday only hold a stray rain chance, but we will crank the heat back up. With less humidity, highs will still make it up near 80°.
