Hazard completes Dortmund switch on five-year deal

📸 Christian Pulisic officially arrives at Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund felt the need to clarify that they have in fact made a real-life signing and not a Pro Clubs transfer after drafting in Hoffenheim's Nico Schulz.

Thorgan Hazard has always been Borussia Dortmund's number one choice to replace Christian Pulisic, who joined Chelsea for 64 million euros in January.

Borussia Dortmund have signed Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported fee of €25million.

Brandt, already an established global with 24 caps, signed a five-year, 25-million-euro deal ($27.9 million) that will keep him at Dortmund until 2024, the club said on its website.

Dortmund, on the other hand, finished a close second to Bayern and will compete in the UEFA Champions League for a third season in a row.

Thorgan Hazard will bring plenty of pace, directness, versatility and Bundesliga experience to this Borussia Dortmund squad.

I'm a person for whom gut instinct and having a good feeling is important when it comes to decisions.

"This was the ideal time to take the next step in my career".

"In the case of Borussia Dortmund, I have a very good feeling".

Brandt, meanwhile, had 10 goals and 13 assists for Leverkusen and is widely seen as a key component of the German national team going forward. I want to continue my personal development.

Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc says Brandt is an ideal signing, "at 23 years of age he's still a young player with lots of potential for development".

Hazard should fill the hole in Lucien Favre's squad vacated by USA worldwide Christian Pulisic, who, coincidentally, has joined Chelsea, the club where Eden Hazard plays, although several reports have linked him with a summer move to Real Madrid.
