Breazeale heavier for Wilder showdow

World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has once again professed his desire to kill an opponent in the ring.

On Tuesday, Wilder referenced on multiple occasions killing Dominic Breazeale in the ring during Saturday's title bout at the Barclay's Center in NY.

Since then, he has won three fights in a row by knockout and now challenges Wilder for the WBC version of the world title.

Wilder said Breazeale asked for it, so he's not going to apologize if it happens.

They are both the same height (210cm) but Wilder (211cm) does have a reach advantage against Breazeale's (207cm). "It's legal. So, why not use my right to do so. if he dies, he dies". Breazeale (20-1) is a sizable underdog but will be the much larger man inside the ring. "Saturday night, he's gonna pay for every lie he's made up", Breazeale said of Wilder.

AJ got the job done at the O2 Arena in brutal fashion that night and those who watched the fight won't be in a rush to back the underdog to claim a win that would blow the heavyweight scene wide open. I didn't seek him out.

"Don't ever do that", said Wilder, who has promised to inflict fatal damage on Breazeale a few times this week. He thinks I'm only a pressure fighter, but he hasn't seen me box the way I'm going to box him on Saturday...

As of right now, Wilder or his team have yet to make any comments, although Deontay did tweet the following - which was no doubt a response to some of the backlash levelled at him. We're not gladiators, these are not Roman times.

Breazeale's veteran trainer Virgil Hunter also joined the chorus of dismay. "None of his words affect me".

"He's gotta build himself up just so he can feel like, 'I'm able to do this, I'm able to do that.' I haven't looked at it the way most people have looked at it, I know he said he wanted a body on his record and he wanted to kill me". I want to hurt Breazeale so bad. Is this the example I want to show and come to grips with it?

"I'm excited to be back and get another knockout win", he said at the news conference.

"It's definitely not appropriate I mean come on, who says insane stuff like that?"

"This is the only sport where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time", Wilder added.

"You never want someone to be harmed from a fight". Getting that WBC belt is everything to me.

"But do I ever wish death on someone?"
