Jason Kidd will likely only accept the Lakers head job

Former Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue is apparently on his way to becoming the next main man with the Lakers

Lue coached James to the National Basketball Association title with the Cleveland Cavaliers. But yeah, good luck to the Lakers. Still, who knows what whispers will emerge if Los Angeles strikes out in free agency and the trade market over the summer and. After burning Year One of LeBron's three-plus-one commitment to the team, the Lakers could bypass some of the normal new-coach-new-team growing pains and hit the ground running in Year Two.

The Lakers have missed the playoffs six straight seasons.

That's what the Lakers had in Tyronn Lue.

A disappointing regular season ended with the resignation of president Magic Johnson - who announced he was stepping down in a freakish news conference prior to the Lakers' final game - and the firing of head coach Luke Walton.

According to the sources, Lue's camp was seeking a five-year deal with a salary commensurate with a championship résumé. Vogel was a name that was mentioned as a potential assistant coach with Lue, but now it looks like he will be in consideration for the head coaching job. But they will now begin looking at other options with the New York Times reporting that Vogel, Mike Woodson, the former New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks coach and Lionel Hollins, the former Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies coach, will be interviewed for the head coaching position.

Still, Lue was willing to coordinate with the Lakers on his staff, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

It's been said that Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss contemplated trading aging superstar LeBron James around the February deadline, and apparently, some close to James are telling Buss to go through with such a move.

The fan also listed chants they want to be used during the protest, which include "Sell the team!" and "No Jason Kidd!"

Beyond that, if the Atlanta hawks really want to roll out a "godfather" offer, one or both of their first-round draft picks this year could be put on the table (as long as it's not the #1 overall pick, as Zion Williamson is probably more desirable at this point than even LBJ). Lebron James was a big part of that, but Lue showed that he has what it takes to coach a generational talent which could help him in coaching Jaren Jackson Jr.
