Pelosi Worried Trump Won’t Accept Defeat in 2020

U.S. Attorney General William Barr

The two sides met on the White House and described their dialogue in useful phrases.

Democratic leaders say they have reached an agreement to invest $2 trillion online infrastructure.

Republicans aren't keen to roll again tax cuts from Trump's 2017 tax reform laws, a thought Democrats who largely opposed that measure has floated as a manner of financing the infrastructure plans.

President Donald Trump chief of staff says the tensions between the White House and Democrats in Congress may work against prospects. That view, fed by Trump's repeated and unsubstantiated claims of Democratic voter fraud, is one of the reasons she says it is imperative not to play into the president's hands, especially on impeachment. Democratic lawmakers are also concentrated on exploring problems raised in the report of counsel Robert Mueller.

Fix is one area where Democrats and Republicans feel they can operate together despite the partisanship in Washington.

Instead of attacking the president on the Mueller probe, which, despite finding no conspiracy between Trump's campaign and Russian Federation and came to no conclusion on obstruction, listed several actions taken by Trump that Democrats argue rise to the level of obstruction of justice, Pelosi has channeled her outrage at Attorney General William Barr who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

Trump and congressional Democrats are meeting after they requested to meet to go over projects to reconstruct bridges, roads and other infrastructure. The nation's top small business groups and labor unions help increasing the federal taxation, now 18.3 cents a gallon since it was last raised in 1993.

"Wondering if Trump supports raising the gas tax", White House adviser Kellyanne Conway stated:"This president will be the guy who lowers taxes".

"Conway acknowledged that" there's no doubt" that infrastructure repairs have to get paid for.

In a New York Times interview on Saturday, Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal), shared her concerned that President Trump would not voluntarily step down unless Democrats win by a "big" enough margin in 2020.

Four months later, the leaders are coming back together again Tuesday, this time in search of a plan to fix the crumbling infrastructure of the country.

Pelosi and Schumer delivered a letter ahead of the meeting to Trump.
