Trump Lashes Out after Firefighters’ Union Endorses Biden

Trump is actually losing Texas to Joe Biden in this poll

Joe Biden looks to woo blue collar voters with his first major 2020 presidential campaign rally in Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon.

But then, Biden turned serious, telling the crowd at the Teamsters union hall "I want to take a moment, quite frankly, to reflect on something that happened here in the state not long ago, and matter of fact very recently".

Miller also acknowledges he is in a "contrarian group" of strategists who believe Trump would be lucky to square off against Biden in the general election.

Trump disparaged both Biden and the endorsement in tweets claiming support from rank-and-file union members.

"The Dues Sucking firefighters leadership will always support Democrats, even though the membership wants me. Some things never change!" And the "blue wall" states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and MI that unexpectedly tipped to Trump over Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election may have supplanted Florida and OH as the nation's premier presidential battlegrounds.

President Donald Trump appeared unnerved as Joe Biden secured the endorsement of the top firefighters' union, issuing Monday a string of four tweets targeting the Democratic presidential candidate and union leaders.

Biden picked up the endorsement of the Pittsburgh-based International Association of Fire Fighters Local No. 1 earlier Monday morning.

Biden said he chose to launch his campaign in Pittsburgh because he said the city is one of those that "represent the cities and towns that make up hard-working, middle class Americans who are the backbone of this nation". "In this case we're standing with Joe Biden".

Many Democrats here say they are excited to be the first desire of Biden's campaign but added it's too early to endorse a candidate.

While Monday's rally was on familiar territory, Biden ventures next into Iowa, where he placed fifth in a six-way Iowa caucus in 2008 and sputtered during his short-lived 1988 campaign.

"I'm sick of this President badmouthing unions". Trump said in another tweet. "They didn't do the job and now you have Trump, who is getting it done - big time!" the president wrote on Twitter. Minimum wage, overtime pay, the 40-hour week: "they exist for all of us because unions fought for those rights", Biden said.

One in three likely voters said they would "definitely" support Trump, while another 14 percent have not made their choice yet.
