'Avengers: Endgame' sets records with $1.2B opening weekend

Thanos will play a part in the upcoming 'Avengers Endgame'

And the film's first two trailers are the most-viewed in history in their first 24 hours, Walt Disney said, adding fan anticipation remains high with many theaters in the county are screening the film around the clock to meet demand.

"Avengers: Endgame" has shattered the record for biggest opening weekend with an estimated $350 million in domestic ticket sales and $1.2 billion globally.

"Avengers: Endgame" is expected to surpass it.

"Endgame" also set weekend records in China, Brazil, France, more than three dozen other markets, Disney said.

Avengers: Endgame defeated the opening day box office collection record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. But the potential small changes in the final numbers won't keep Avengers: Endgame from breaking all these box office records. The film has already out grossed fourteen of the MCU's other 21 movies in its opening weekend and has resulted in the biggest industry opening weekend of all time across all regions and in 44 markets. The movie has been making new records at the box-office in India after it hit the theaters on April 26, 2019. Another important fact that can not be missed out here is that the movie Avengers: Endgame does not only conclude the eleven year journey of all the twenty movies, but it also concludes the journey of the Russo brothers with Marvel.

Since it is the last film in the Avengers franchise, Avengers: Endgame had huge hype, curiosity and expectations from it, before its release.

But why, when she finally does return to Earth in Avengers: Endgame, does she not mention - or seem concerned about - the likes of Maria Rambeau and her daughter Monica?

The universe belongs to Marvel.

It has a 96 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is all but unheard of for a Marvel movie. "Endgame" moved the needle to negative 13.3% but the boost was less significant since "Infinity War" opened on the same weekend in 2018.
