National Football League trade rumors: Dolphins, Cardinals 'close' to Josh Rosen deal

Josh Rosen Kyler Murray

Despite drafting quarterback Josh Rosen with their first pick past year, the Cardinals essentially replaced him by taking Murray Thursday night. Everybody knew Kyler Murray was going to be the number one overall pick, despite the Cardinals' attempt to try and throw curveballs at everybody. If the Dolphins pull it off, they'll look even smarter for hanging onto their first-round pick and not using it on a quarterback.

"My job is to come in every day, work hard and get better each and every day, do what I can to make this team better", Murray said.

San Francisco now has the following six selections in this year's draft. The Dolphins are easily the most likely suitor, as this year they signed bridge QB extraordinaire Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The first round of the 2019 NFL Draft is finally behind us.

The Cardinals reportedly would get the Dolphins' second-round pick, No. 48 overall, Friday for the No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 draft. Both the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins had been linked as potential landing spots for Rosen heading into the 2019 NFL Draft. "I have no reason to give Josh away".

- Speaking of who is available, there are a bunch of guys I have seen go in multiple first-round mocks over the past couple of months who are still there. "I love to compete, so it wasn't a big deal for me". They passed on a quarterback in the first round and acquiring Rosen could accelerate their rebuild.

"If you don't want to score from 70 yards out, you won't like this guy, " Harbaugh said he told everyone in a recent draft meeting.

The San Francisco 49ers used the No. 2 overall pick to select Ohio State defensive end and edge rusher Nick Bosa.

There was also some history set as T.J. Bosa is the younger brother of Los Angeles Chargers' defensive end Joey Bosa. When rumors began swirling that they could take Murray, the Cardinals wanted a first-rounder in return for Rosen.
