Fortnite “Borrows” the Most Iconic Apex Legends Feature

First of all, to even be in with the chance to revive a teammate, you'll need to retrieve their Reboot Card. Much like the system that is featured in Apex Legends, the Reboot Van allows players that get killed in-game to be brought back, which is a huge game changer when it comes to Fortnite and how players approach fights.

Fortnite and its newest competitor, Apex Legends, are locked in something of a duel for battle royale supremacy. When a teammate dies, you'll have to collect their Reboot Card which they drop as they are eliminated. Fortnite's reboot cards last for 90 seconds before expiring, as well.

According to the most recent notes, the most prominent demonstration of the Fortnite v8.30 update are the Reboot Vans. Different partners can be resuscitated in one go, yet once users utilize the Reboot Van it can't be utilized again for around two minutes.

This week, Epic released Fortnite's new 8.30 patch, and while it's an update full of new content and changes, its most notable addition is a feature that Apex players are already very familiar with: respawns.

On top of that, there are two additional limited-time game modes to check out today, and they're both returning favorites: Fly Explosives, which outfits players with explosive weapons and Jetpacks, and Team Rumble, which is arriving with quite a few tweaks this time around. With high risk should come high reward, and Fortnite's reboot van fits the bill. Bring eliminated teammates back into battle with the Reboot Van.

Weapon/Item Changes Reboot Vans have now been added to the map at all major POIs. In the latter game, the beacon summons a new drop ship to bring your teammate back to the battlefield, which is highly visible to everybody around and requires your dead squaddie to jump from the ship back to the ground.

Following a successful "reboot", the respawn station will enter a cooldown state, denying you (and any other team) use of its facilities for 120 seconds. While the particulars are really clear, the rule behind these is to help you respawn your fallen group member. You'll reenter the match with 100 health, a Common Pistol with 36 rounds, and 100 wood to let you build.
