Minnesota Lynx draft former Gophers' guard Kenisha Bell

Lynx Pick UConn’s Napheesa Collier In 2019 Draft

The Lynx have experience with former Gophers stars. "The 5′9" guard led UB to its second- and third-ever NCAA Tournament appearances in her two seasons at Buffalo, averaging 25.2 points per game this year - second in the nation - and setting a new school record with 856 points. She looked at SC and Notre Dame and quickly decided Notre Dame checked all the boxes, deciding she would don an Irish jersey for Muffet McGraw in the fall.

Collier, a forward from the University of CT, racked up 24 double-doubles during her senior season.

Shepard started 37-of-38 games as a junior. Shepard joined the likes of Ruth Riley as the only two players in Notre Dame history to reach 2,000+ points and 1,000+ rebounds in their careers. Shepard also set herself apart from other posts with her strong passing ability. She was named first-team All-America as both a sophomore and a senior and won AAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors this past season.

The 6-foot-4 forward is listed as a forward on the Lynx roster, but can flip between the 4 and the 5 positions. They then traded the draft rights for Hiederman to the Connecticut Suns in exchange for guard Lexie Brown, formerly of Duke, who is entering her second season.
