Broncos won't receive any 2019 compensatory National Football League draft picks

The exact formula is not publicized, but with the Patriots losing Nate Solder, Malcolm Butler, Dion Lewis and Danny Amendola in free agency, they were expected to earn picks.

Under the system, teams that suffer a net loss of compensatory free agents (CFA) during the prior free agency signing period are eligible to receive a corresponding number of compensatory selections in the following year's draft, up to a maximum of four selections. Players who are released do not qualify.

It begins Thursday, April 25, and runs through Saturday, April 27.

The Ravens also have two fourth-round picks - including one they recently acquired from the Denver Broncos in their pending trade for quarterback Joe Flacco - one fifth-round pick and two sixth-round picks.

In addition to the Redskins and Patriots, the Rams will have two picks in the third round, while Carolina and Baltimore will have one apiece. In determining pick compensation, the league's private formula considers salary, playing time and postseason honors. The team has been awarded 50 extra selections since the system started in 1994, eight more than the next-closest teams.

The Giants are in possession of their picks in rounds one (sixth overall), two, four, five, and six. The Bengals also accrued a sixth round pick in a 2017 trade that sent cornerback Bene Benwikere to the Dallas Cowboys.
