Nikola Mirotic was traded to the Bucks from the Pelicans, 76ers traded former first overall pick Markelle Fultz to the Magic. The 20-year-old Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds and is shooting 42 percent from the field.
Earlier this year, all the way back in January, rumor had it that the 76ers ownership group wanted to get back 'at least a first-round pick' to consider trading Fultz, and in this move, they got that, and oh so much more.
Now, in moving Fultz, the Sixers have officially closed the book on The Process. Outside of one game where he recorded a triple-double, Fultz offered nearly nothing to the team during his time with the Sixers. That decision by former general manager Bryan Colangelo proved to be a massive mistake. However, Fultz hasn't played since November 19. Whether it is because of injury or something else, it is certainly one of the strangest things to happen in the history of the National Basketball Association.
How would the franchise acquire its point guard of the future? That experiment is over, and it's netted them a core four of Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Bulter and Harris. Furthermore, Elton Brand has made it clear that the Sixers are in win-now mode, trying to make a run this season.
