Donald Trump says Nancy Pelosi was 'very rigid' during shutdown

Trump's speech had been scheduled for January 29, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called it off because the shutdown was underway, leading to an angry response from the president, who denied her and several other Democrats access to a military plane to visit USA troops in Afghanistan.

Pelosi, along with other top Democrats, wouldn't negotiate on border wall and border security funds until the shutdown ended, however, since the government reopened almost a week ago, it doesn't look like Pelosi has made any effort to compromise.

"The president hasn't specifically said he is going to invoke the emergency powers", Mr. Shelby told CNN. "We owe it to them to finish this wall and protect them from the monsters within".

At least six GOP Senators are reportedly against declaring a national emergency, but the president could veto a disapproval resolution if one was sent to his desk.

"I think that she was very rigid - which I would expect - but I think she's very bad for our country".

US President Donald Trump says negotiations with opposition Democrats over funding a border wall with Mexico have not advanced and he may declare a national emergency to bypass congress to build the barrier. She knows that you need a barrier, she knows we need border security.

"It's very hard to do human trafficking through ports of entry because you have people standing there saying hey what's going on in the backseat, what's going on in the trunk". "And the problem is if they don't give us a wall it doesn't work".

"We will be looking at a national emergency, because I don't think anything is going to happen".

Trump said he wants to keep the USA military base in Iraq rather than pull troops out like in Syria and Afghanistan "because I want to be able to watch Iran". "I think the Democrats don't want border security".

"We've certainly tried to communicate that to him", said Cornyn, referring to Trump. Enough drugs were contained in the shipment to kill millions of people.

Under the US Constitution, Congress holds the national purse strings and approves major expenditures of taxpayer funds.

According to the Human Trafficking Legal Center, most foreign-born human trafficking victims enter the United States with legal visas believing they will be given a chance to work legitimate jobs.

Asked if Trump would acknowledge the shutdown in his speech, the administration official said the president will "definitely talk about immigration and about where we are in that debate and present a path forward".
