Pelicans would want Kuzma, Ball, more in Davis trade with Lakers

Report: LeBron James' camp prefers coaching change from Luke Walton

Attention has turned to the superstar the Lakers could acquire: Anthony Davis. Stephen A. Smith did predict this months ago.

The Lakers star participated in full-contact defensive drills Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) for the first time since going down with a groin injury on Christmas Day.

The analyst stated that he finds himself "very, very anxious right now as to whether or not the Lakers are going to be able to attract a marquee free agent".

Davis will not sign an extension with New Orleans and wants to be traded, agent Rich Paul told ESPN.

Los Angeles is now mired in a three-game losing skid and has dropped 10 of its past 15 contests.

"Anthony Davis will let the Pelicans know he wants out this summer". But when Boston is able to throw their assets and young pieces into a possible trade during the offseason, things could get interesting quick. "We'll see how his body responds to that, and from there we'll take it as far as making those scrimmages longer, or if he says, 'Hey I feel great, I'll see if I can play, ' then we'll make those adjustments". "I don't think this is a shock, is it?"

But it has set off a potential civil war in Laker land.

For what it's worth, the odds on where Davis will play at the start of the 2019-20 season still point to the Lakers over the Celtics.

These odds are pretty much what you'd probably expect now. While the National Basketball Association star has reportedly joined the team once more in full-contact defensive drills, it seems that a new issue has cropped up and it involves head coach Luke Walton. The goal of both options is to propel the Lakers into the playoffs, and avoid the embarrassment of missing the postseason in the first year of their LeBron James era.
