Yossi Adler, his wife Jennie, and their 19-month-old daughter were flying back home after a vacation in Miami on Wednesday night. There's nothing wrong with us'.
"There's a religious reason for some reason that they're kicking me off the plane".
Past year a Transavia Airlines worldwide flight made an emergency landing because passengers complained of a man's body odor.
"Our Miami airport team members were concerned about the comfort of our other passengers due to the odor", said Alexis Aran Coello, American Airlines corporate communications manager.
Adler insists he and his wife bathe every day and that they do not smell bad. "That was upsetting, that the man said 'Oh you Orthodox people don't take showers, ' that's what he told me".
"They said they're taking our stuff off, and they lied", said Yossi in the video.
The plane left with their luggage, their daughter's auto seat and stroller.
A MI couple and their 19-month-old daughter were removed from an American Airlines flight after the airline told them that other passengers and crew members had complained about their body odor. "Because we just got kicked off a plane for smelling", Jennie Adler said.
"'They said there were people on the plane complaining that you have b.o".
"Our team members took care of the family and provided hotel accommodations and meals, and rebooked them on a flight to Detroit this morning", the statement continued. "I said you kicked me off because of religious reasons", Adler shot back at him.
The couple, both 37, had eight other children at home in Southfield, Mich., so Adler said that he and his wife were anxious that there may have been an incident involving one of them.
Adler says they did get their luggage back when they returned to Detroit on Thursday.
An American Airlines jet is seen in the air preparing to land at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport in Rosemont, Illinois.
The Adlers said they made it home to Detroit late Thursday and were reunited with their luggage.
"Jennie told the news outlet that they stopped other people in the airport and asked them, "'Do you think we smell? "And those were the managers - they were embarrassing us in front of everybody".
