Alec Baldwin pleads guilty to harassment in parking spot dispute

Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin has pleaded guilty to harassing a man during a dispute over a parking spot last fall. "He's an asshole. He stole my spot", Baldwin reportedly said at the time, adding, "I did push him".

Actor Alec Baldwin has pleaded guilty months after he was taken into NY police custody for his alleged involvement in a fight about a parking space.

Baldwin's court appearance stemmed from charges of misdemeanor assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted someone during a dispute over a parking spot outside his apartment in November.

23, 2019, Alec Baldwin tweeted out about appearing in Manhattan court earlier in the day, where he pleaded guilty. The actor's attorney stressed that he pleaded guilty to a violation, not a crime, according to ABC 7.

"Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today's story", a post on his foundation's Twitter account said after the incident.

"The press reported that I punched someone. I wanted to go on the record stating as much", he posted on Twitter a year ago.

The driver was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. "Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos, it doesn't make the statements true".

Baldwin has also had several other run-ins with the general public that did not involve law enforcement. The actor was thrown off an American Airlines flight in 2011 after refusing to turn his cell phone off for departure.

Alec Baldwin has been ordered to enrol in an anger management programme.

In 2014, Baldwin was arrested in NY for allegedly getting belligerent with police who said they stopped him for bicycling the wrong way on a one-way street.

Baldwin was nominated for an Oscar in 2004 for Best Supporting Actor in The Cooler.

The 60-year-old actor, most recently known for his impersonations of U.S. President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live", arrived alone, wearing a winter coat, scarf and glasses as he strode past waiting photographers into the courthouse.

Baldwin heads an NPR podcast, Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin.
