Sudbury remains under an extreme cold warning from Environment Canada, with icy gusts making already cold temperatures feel that much colder. High temperatures are back in the teens by Friday and Saturday. Wind chills remain dangerously cold through the afternoon and evening.
Wind Chill Warnings, a lot of them taking effect on Sunday evening, were posted for all or parts of the following counties into Monday: Webster, Pocahontas, Randolph, Preston, Tucker, Grant, Mineral and Pendleton.
Tuesday: A slippery morning commute is likely as snow showers continue before tapering off in the afternoon hours. The combination of northerly winds and single digit temperatures may result in wind chills down to -20 degrees!
Conditions should vastly improve on Tuesday, with a high near 30.
The western part of the state along the North Dakota and South Dakota borders has the highest risk of blowing snow on Thursday.
Monday will be a very cold day, with temperatures in the 20s despite plenty of sunshine.
The arctic blast will be short-lived as milder air approaches Indiana.
A second cold front will affect our weather toward the end of the week.
