Dispelling myths about Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray

BREAKING: Kyler Murray Chooses Football Over Baseball, Enters NFL Draft

His season statistics eclipsed those of his former Oklahoma team-mate (and fellow Heisman winner) Baker Mayfield, who was the number one overall pick in the 2018 National Football League draft and put in some excellent performances for the Cleveland Browns after winning their starting quarterback spot. Murray still has time to weigh his options, but - for now - it looks like Murray's heart is set on playing pro football.

Callis and other observers say it is very unlikely Murray will be able to play both sports because he's a quarterback.

Sanders said "life won't allow" Murray to play both sports because he's a quarterback.

Following a less-than-stellar freshman season for A&M football in 2015, Kyler Murray transferred to the University of Oklahoma.

Jim Callis, a senior writer on MLB.com, said the A's couldn't have foreseen Murray would be a potential first-round National Football League draft pick because of his size. Is Murray entering the NFL Draft a good thing for the Broncos moving forward and how realistic are the odds of the Broncos snagging a guy like Murray?

He never played a first-class baseball game, went back to college, and became the oldest player ever picked in the first round of the National Football League draft, at 28, when the Cleveland Browns took him 22nd overall in 2012. Kohrt discusses Murray's future and whether he should or shouldn't play football.

The major question that Murray, his family, friends and advisers must answer is which is the better long term move?

Then, in college, he originally committed to play for Texas A&M. One player expected to be in the mix for the starting job in 2019 is Austin Kendall, Murray's backup in 2018.

Murray becomes the fifth member of the Sooners' high-powered offense to declare for the draft, joining running back Rodney Anderson, wide receiver Marquise Brown and tackles Cody Ford and Bobby Evans.

The A's visited with Murray over the weekend in an attempt to persuade him to play baseball.

As mentioned in a previous post, new Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury is high on the 22-year-old quarterback.

"And so the immediate money in football is more guaranteed at this position".

Murray himself hasn't fully committed to either path, but if he follows through his intention to enter the NFL Draft, and takes part in the NFL Scouting Combine that precedes it on February 26 in Indianapolis, all eyes will be on him as he showcases his skills in front of the NFL's top talent scouts.
