Broncos hire former Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak

Report: Steelers OL Coach Mike Munchak Takes Same Job With Denver

Before Fangio took the Bears' DC job and brought Donatell with him, they spent four years with the 49ers (2011 to 2014) in the same roles. He went on to win each of his five starts that season with San Francisco.

Denver hired Ed Donatell as its defensive coordinator - he will be the eyes in the sky for Fangio - in what was a seamless move.

"He's a very good teacher and believes in the fundamentals in the classroom and on the field". While he will have the title of defensive coordinator in Denver, Fangio will be the defensive play-caller. "So, in the sixth round, they gave me a call, said they wanted to sign me as a free agent". "I believe, for the most part, I'm pretty good at it".

He interviewed well on Tuesday with Broncos new coach Vic Fangio, leaving the process to continue on Wednesday.

Who is going to run the offense?

Munchak, who had been a frontrunner for the Broncos head coaching job, is widely regarded as one of the top offensive line coaches in the NFL. And the Broncos will retain special teams coordinator Tom McMahon.

Neither Musgrave nor defensive coordinator Joe Woods will return in 2019.

After his first stint with the Vikings, Klint Kubiak became the WR coach for the University of Arkansas before his most recent role an offensive assistant/QB coach with the Denver Broncos. Pariani began his tenure with the NFL in 1994 and has worked alongside Kubiak ever since, with the exception of the 2005 season where he coached outside of the league. Former Cowboys and Broncos star DeMarcus Ware was a volunteer coach for the edge rushers but he missed long stretches of the season while competing on "Dances with the Stars" last fall.
