Trump's 'Wounded Knee' tweet over Warren sparks anger

Trump Jokes About Wounded Knee Massacre Is Still Weirdly Obsessed with Elizabeth Warren's Heritage

Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in a tweet on Sunday night over her recent live stream where she drank beer.

US President Donald Trump is facing criticism once again for taunting Democrat Elizabeth Warren over her purported Native American heritage.

Trump revived one of his favorite nicknames for Warren and even jabbed at her husband, saying he should have been "dressed in full Indian garb". On Sunday, Trump chose to tweet about it by using one of the greatest atrocities ever committed by the United States military to help crack a joke. "I'm glad you're here, '" Trump continued.

In a follow up tweet, Trump called the video a "beer catastrophe".

At a rally in July, Trump joked that he would pull out a heritage kit during a hypothetical presidential debate with Warren, and slowly toss it at her, "hoping it doesn't hit her and injure her arm, even though it only weighs probably two ounces".

In the video, the liberal firebrand had a craving for alcohol: "Hold on a second - I'm gonna get me a beer", she said, as she walked out of view of the camera.

The massacre at Wounded Knee was estimated to have killed between 150 to 300 Lakota Indians, including women and children, during a battle in South Dakota in 1890.

Trump has been lambasting Warren since his 2016 campaign, when he began derisively labeling her "Pocahontas" in a shot against her claims of Native American heritage.

At a campaign rally in July previous year, Trump said he would donate a million dollars to Warren's "favourite charity" if she took a test proving her Native American heritage.

There were also some who ridiculed it as repetitive.

Debbie White Dove Porreco, who is a descendant of Pocahontas, said on Fox News that Warren should apologize for her claims of having Cherokee ancestry.

"This is my sweetie", Warren says, referring to her husband.
