The 13-year-old girl from Barron, Wis., on Thursday fled the cabin near the small town of Gordon - about an hour north of her home - where she said she had been imprisoned.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told reporters on Friday that Patterson took measures to avoid leaving evidence at the Closs family's home, including shaving his head before breaking in.
Investigators say they believe Patterson broke into the Closs home in October, killing James and Denise and kidnapping 13-year-old Jayme. When the dispatcher called back, a voicemail greeting indicated the phone belonged to Denise Closs, the dispatch log reads. No one on the line talked to the dispatcher, but the dispatcher "could hear a lot of yelling".
As Jayme Closs starts her road to recovery following her kidnapping, investigators are trying to piece together what happened during the almost three months she was in captivity.
Patterson was arrested last Thursday in Gordon, Wisconsin.
Jayme was alone, without a coat or gloves in the Midwestern chill, Nutter said. "I believe all the thoughts and prayer behind you, God and your mom and dad led you to use your strength, love and power to get you home to us".
Prosecutors formally charged Patterson on Monday in the murders and the abduction in Barron, Wisconsin. "Don't ask me how I stayed so calm".
Nutter described Jayme's condition as "skinny and dirty but outwardly OK", saying her hair was matted. Per the complaint, he said he saw Jayme get on the bus and "he knew that was the girl he was going to take".

Fitzgerald has called Jayme a hero.

Tremblay says the challenge will be to prepare students to welcome Closs with open arms without prying too much.
