"Meghan came up to me and asked me how old I was and where I went to school".

Speculation Harry and Meghan will welcome a girl increased after United Kingdom bookmakers Paddy Power suspended betting on the gender of the baby due to an overwhelming number of bets being placed.

The Duchess, expecting her first child with Harry, told a well-wisher she is due in April.

Their first stop of the day was Hamilton Square to view a new sculpture erected in November to mark the 100th anniversary of war poet Wilfred Owen's death.

Kensington Palace, which has said only that the baby is due in the northern hemisphere spring, declined to comment on Monday.

Meghan, 37, was dressed in a purple dress from Babaton by Aritzia, a cheery red coat from Sentaler and matching red Stuart Weitzman pumps.

It is understood that her Royal Protection Officer was anxious that Meghan wanted to be 'one of the people'.

The Duchess wore her luscious brunette locks in a bun, while husband Harry looked as handsome as ever in a grey coat and smart pair of pants. "It's another team player as part of the bigger team", the Duke of Sussex revealed after sharing news of his and Meghan's engagement several months prior to the wedding.

The two expectant mums met during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit to Number 7, a local cafe and supermarket that offers discounted foods for customers in need. Meghan's personal assistant Melissa Touabti left her role after just six months, although the reasons for quitting are still unclear.

Feeding Birkenhead is a coalition of churches, food banks, community groups, and other organisations working together to eliminate hunger in Birkenhead.

Meghan and Harry had visited the youth club and appeared delighted to watch a performance by some of the children, before chatting to the youngsters.

They ended their visit at the Hive Wirral Youth Zone, run by the charity OnSide Youth Zones.
