Impossible for Chelsea to sell Barcelona target Willian says Sarri

Barcelona transfer news

Willian will not be leaving Chelsea during the January transfer window. The list included Barca, who reportedly had an offer rejected by the west Londoners.

Malcom, meanwhile, joined Barcelona from Bordeaux for €41 million ahead of the current campaign but has widely failed to live up expectations.

Maurizio Sarri believes it is impossible for Willian to leave Chelsea in January amid reports of the Blues winger being the subject of a cash-plus-player bid from Barcelona. Firstly, the Premier League heavyweights value Willian higher than what has been proposed as part of the deal.

And the swap deal will be of huge benefit to Chelsea as the Blues will not need to find a replacement for their 30-year-old winger.

Barca have reportedly made a renewed approach, with Malcom thrown into the deal, which Chelsea are also thought to have refused.

Asked about the Blaugrana's reported interest in Willian, Sarri said: "I didn't receive anything yesterday".

Sarri's wing options have been bolstered by the return to fitness of both Willian and Pedro from muscle injuries, but uncertainty surrounding Callum Hudson-Odoi's future makes Willian's availability all the more important. "I don't know what you're talking about".

The Chelsea boss then explained how Willian can further up his displays on the pitch. "Normally he wants the ball into his feet, he must improve his movement when he doesn't have the ball and he will have the potential to score more goals".
