Bollywood stars call on Modi

Gully Boy trailer ranveer singh

Earlier today, the news of a delegation from Bollywood comprising of mostly young Bollywood celebs meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started doing the rounds.

Dressed in their best, an array of young Bollywood actors including Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana and several others flew down from Mumbai to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday morning.

The delegation, which comprised directors and actors, was led by Johar.

The director-producer also thanked the prime minister for the GST reduction in movie ticket prices.

Thanking PM Modi and highlighting the industry's responsibility to produce good content for the society, Karan wrote, "Powerful and timely conversations can bring about change and this was one of what we hope will become a regular conversation". He said the dialogue was about the ways in which the film industry can contribute to nation building.

Johar uploaded a selfie with Modi and the rest of the group on Instagram and described the meeting as "an incredible opportunity". Together we would love to inspire and ignite positive changes to a transformative India.

There is a heap of male actors who have been called to represent the fraternity, while only 2-3 women will be present at the meeting.

After the December 19 meeting with PM drew flak on social media for not having any female representation on the panel, inclusion of names such as Alia and Bhumi is a step up.
