Michigan's Al Washington -- Key Recruiter -- Following Mattison To Ohio State

Greg Schiano has been on Ohio State’s staff for the past three seasons. More

Not only did archrival Ohio State end Michigan's conference and national titles hopes in a blowout win at the Horseshoe, the Buckeyes have also pilfered two of Jim Harbaugh's defensive coaches.

Ohio State's 2018 linebackers coach, Bill Davis, was let go by the Buckeyes' new head coach, Ryan Day.

According to multiple reports including Rivals' Buckeye Grove, Schiano will not be back for the 2019 season with the Buckeyes.

Day announced he's replacing Schiano with a two-man team composed of former Wolverines defensive line coach Greg Mattison and former 49ers assistant Jeff Hafley.

Schiano was the defensive coordinator for three seasons under Meyer.

Washington was defensive line coach on Luke Fickell's Cincinnati staff in 2017 before jumping to MI.

2nd U of M coach heads to Columbus.

Urban Meyer told the same story every November about listening to the Ohio State vs. MI game over the loudspeakers at an outdoor shopping mall near Ashtabula when he was a child, and his mother dragged him reluctantly out of the house on the day of The Game. His contract with Ohio State was set to expire January 31, according to a report from ESPN.

Ohio State's defense gave up 5.6 yards per play in 2018 and had a tendency to give up big plays. Greg is a terrific coach.

Washington had been at MI for one year. Six of the seven players he helped bring to MI in this year's class come from one of those two states, including four-star tackle Trente Jones from Georgia and four-star tight end Erick All from Ohio.
